The last May weekend we spend two days in London with Karla and Fabio. Unfortunately it was raining and freakin' cold (around 14 degrees Celsius). But despite the rain we spend our days outside, in restaurants and in museums... and we had fun.
After lunch we were walking aimlessly until we stumbled upon this old cemetery (Brompton Cemetery), one of the Magnificent Seven. The graves are very old (19th century) and the whole cemetery has a rather spooky atmosphere.

18 Март 2010, 08:48 vividBreeze @Karla: I can be such a smart-ass :-P.@Rehan: The Snake Doors weren't actually open - but locked by a padlock. It looked like someone recently broke in.. or out ;-). There are vents in the door through which I took the photos. It's the main catacomb of the cemetery - I don't know who's burried there!? Do you?
18 Март 2010, 23:27 Mr The Poet Lots of famous Victorian people! And lots of Music Halls artists - I have one of their catalogues of the great and good that are buried there. Abney Park, parts of Kensal Green and Highgate are much more dense and overrgown than Brompton but Brompton has an atmosphere pof its own. Beatrix Potter lived nearby and would often venture into the cemetery from where it is though she got some of the names for her characters, I think there's even a Puddleduck buried here.
