Thames Barrier - LARGE

The Thames Barrier is a large flood control structure on the River Thames, constructed between 1974 and 1982 at Woolwich Reach, and first used defensively in 1983.It is the world's second largest movable flood barrier (the largest is the Maeslantkering in The Netherlands).

This is awesome! Went there around Christmas
time the last time I was in London... brought
my tri pod and all to take photos... but
seriously it was tooo bloody cold I couldn't
even focus! It's really cool architecture,
and I love this image. Really fab work Ray!
Maybe I'll have another go this time around
when I arrive Saturday! ;D
P.s. I wasn't on that bit you're on... and
also the water was all the way up to the
fence I think?... even though there's no way
I would have hopped over anyway to take it
from where you are! Is that what you did, or
you found another sneaky way to get this
perspective? Though I know these embankment
shots are your favs!
