The start of another Friday night in London Town.
Taken from the roof of my old building - just walked right in... I could tell it was going to be a splendid sunset and wanted to be up there. The view of the burgeoning skyline is wonderful.
Interestingly I was so set on shooting because I had rented the Sigma 12-24, so I could compare it to the Nikkor 14-24. Sorry, but there is no contest. There weren't any shots worth exporting from Lightroom except those taken with my (Sigma) 50 prime, like this one. The Sigma w/angle was absurdly soft in the outer 25% of the frame. Yuck. I'm off to get a 14-24 (and not look at my bank balance for a while).

21 Март 2010, 04:27 tom hills nice shot Nick, coincidently i was looking at cityscapes captured from high viewpoints today (mainly Manhattan TBH) as i'm looking for inspiration for the winter - this is a wonderful view of the City and nice work getting it!how good is the 14-24mm? i saw a test shot you took, i think at F/4, it looked unreal! the lack of filtration put me off and i think it would be too wide but i'd like to hear what you thought of it compared to the 17-35mm.hope you're well by the way ;-)
