This is the City of London, not to be confused with the City of Westminster. The City deals with money whereas Westminster deals in power.
My beloved Gherkin just about dominates the rather crowded scene but just to its right is the Monument which marks where The Great Fire of London started in 1666.
I took my wife up to the top when she was 6 months pregnant. It's 300 steps and no she has never forgiven me. We haven't been up since either.
