"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain....
Time to die."
Rutger Hauer as Roy Batty in 'Blade Runner'
Directed by Ridley Scott; written by Hampton Fancher & David Peoples; based on the novel 'Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep?' by Philip K Dick

Charing Cross? Wherever, it is just one of
your very, very best. I love this to bits.
The totally ridiculous saturation is just
brilliant, and the image leaps out of the
screen like almost no other I've seen for
months. In fact, I'd rather say that this
picture has made my evening.--
Seen on your photo stream. (?)

05 Февраль 2010, 14:40 danvartanian Great shot!
06 Февраль 2010, 11:36 Dappers I usually don't like pictures with effects like this... but I do like this image a lot. Could be because you're a genius... or maybe just because of the Rutger Hauer quote... Either way: good work! ;-)
06 Февраль 2010, 17:45 Durruti Column Great combination of text and image. Reminiscent of the digitised images in Chris Marker's superb Sans Soleil.
06 Февраль 2010, 17:52 Durruti Column In other news... I remember reading some years ago about Blade Runner being seen as a positive model in architecture schools in the English-speaking world! Well, I suppose we're living with some of the results of that inspiration now... :~(For the record, the novel is one of Dick's most grim visualisations of the future. He does, for example, describe the future Los Angeles as a pollution-laden rain-sodden megalopolis.

First: That picture looks awesome! I like the
color treatment, and it really does somewhat
resemble the blade runner movie poster. And in addition to Durruti Column: In my
eyes, his book A Scanner Darkly - basically a
long, paranoia-ridden acid trip - draws a
much darker picture of the things to come.--
Seen in my contacts' photos. (?)
07 Февраль 2010, 21:28 Durruti Column Yes, I've read A Scanner Darkly - but my memories of it are fuzzy... ;~) Of course, nearly all of Dick's novels paint a dark picture of the future - but it was the specific urban grimness of Do Androids Dream... that particularly impressed me. Dr. Bloodmoney had some of that feel too (but in a post-holocaust context, so hardly surprising).
